SYNERGIES to Set up Largest Alloy Plant in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, INDIA

May 2nd  2018, Visakhapatnam Andhra Pradesh :  SYNERGIES CASTINGS LIMITED, India’s leading aluminium alloy wheel manufacturer announced the signing of an MOU with the Government of Andhra Pradesh in the presence of the Honourable Chief Minister Sri. Chandrababu Naidu; to establish a major greenfield aluminium casting and specialty alloy wheel manufacturing facility in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, INDIA.



This new greenfield facility with an annual production capacity of 2.4 million wheels per year, benchmarked at 18” wheel size will have the most sophisticated casting, machining, painting facilities with embedded digital manufacturing technologies; to offer its’ Customers the best possible product at the most competitive prices.  The Project cost of $100 million will be financed by the existing shareholders, accruals and bank debt.



With the auto industry poised to see a major growth in the coming years, and the increased penetration of alloy wheels in India, SYNERGIES is gearing up to meet the steep demand by increasing production capacity manifold and fulfilling the needs of its veritable customer base.



Andhra Pradesh is emerging as major Auto hub in the country. The state has attracted an investment of $3.7 billion (about Rs 25,000 crore) in the auto sector . The state of Andhra Pradesh now boasts of presence of auto companies like Korean  Kia Motors, Japanese auto major  Isuzu, two-wheeler major Hero Motocorp, Apollo Tyres, Bharat Forge and Brakes India among others



This agreement with the state of Andhra Pradesh sets the stage for building one of the largest single location alloy wheel manufacturing projects, with intent to expand this to 5 million wheels in multiple phases.  Mr. Shekhar Movva, President SYNERGIES CASTINGS LIMITED, commented, “As customer requirements become exceedingly more stringent, and consequent need to invest in substantial capex for sophisticated production, testing and development facilities, it is important to scale up and tech-up to remain competitive.  While we have evaluated several manufacturing location options in the country, we believe that Vizag, and the terms of engagement with the state of Andhra Pradesh offers the best opportunity to be the most competitive manufacturer of Alloy wheels in the country.  Further, with the GST regime on, there is no penalty to moving goods across geographies and thus large-scale manufacturing makes sense.” This initiative is in sync with the Government’s push to make Andhra Pradesh an automobile hub of the future.  Together with its ancillaries, this venture will provide more than 2000+ skilled jobs in the region.



This marks another step forward in the strategic growth of Synergies.  Together with the ongoing expansion at the existing location, the new greenfield plant being built in Oman, and this proposed new greenfield, the Company is on-course to becoming a 6-million-wheel Capacity Company by 2022-23.  “We are committed to being the technology and market leader in India; and are investing significantly in new casting, forming, finishing and automation technologies to retain this leadership.”

Bollywood star Akshay Kumar Unveils the Nationwide Movement of New India Conclave in Mumbai

2nd May 2018, Mumbai: Bollywood superstar and Brand Ambassador Akshay Kumar unveiled a nationwidecampaign New India Conclave 2018 last night in the presence of Hon. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu. The evening saw the first look of the campaign- the biggest ever non-government rural outreach programme organized in association with renowned NGOs - Y4D Foundation, NEEDS NGO, Avanee Foundation and Aga Khan Rural Support Programme. The New India Conclave is scheduled to take place in New Delhi in the first week of July, 2018, which will witness the presence of Hon. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Ministers of various states

The evening unfolded with the launch of the logo and website of the New India Conclave in the presence of achievers like - Tanay Chakravarty, Founder NEEDs NGO, Radheyshyam Gomla, Gomla Model Village Haryana, Popatrao Pawar, Hiware Bazar Maharashtra, Shyam Sunder Paliwal, Social Activist Rajasthan, Barun Singh, Rural Activist, Bihar and Rangaswamy Elango, Rural Activist Tamil Nadu.

Akshay Kumar who is well known for his stellar performances in movies like ‘Toilet-Ek Prem Katha’ and ‘Pad Man’, which focuses on rural development, also took the stage to share a few words on the occasion regarding this initiative.

Rajkumar Rao Starrer ‘Omerta’ to be Distributed Worldwide by NH Studioz

Mumbai; 2nd May 2018:‘Omerta’ starring Rajkumar Rao is set to release on 4th May 2018 in India and is already a talk of the town with rave reviews from the critics. The movie will be distributed by Mumbai based, NH Studioz across the world. The company acquired the Worldwide distribution rights of the movie and is aggressively targeting all important markets and territories. Omerta is a crime drama film directed by Hansal Mehta and sketches Rajkumar Rao in the role of Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh, a British terrorist of Pakistani descent. The film explores the 1994 kidnappngs of Westerners in India for which Omar was arrested and served time in prison and the plotting of murder of Wall Street journalist Daniel Pearl  in 2002. It was screened in the Special Presentations section at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival, the Mumbai Film Festival, Florence Film Festival, Hong Kong International Film Festival and the Busan International Film Festival. NH Studioz is now set to take the movie out to larger audiences across the world.

या लघुचित्रपटाबद्दल बोलताना डॉसुयश शिंदे म्हणाले, "'मयतलघुप हा पूर्णपणे व्यावसायिक सेटअप वापरून तयार केलेला आहे.जवळपास दीड वर्षांपासून 'मयतलघुपटावर काम चालू होतेसर्वसाधारणपणे कोणताही लघुचित्रपट तत्कालीन समस्येवर सामाजिकसंदेश देतोत्यामधून लोकजागृती करणे हा उद्देश असतोमात्र या संकल्पनेला छेद देत मी प्रेक्षकांना माझ्या चित्रपटातून तात्विकसंदेश देण्याचे ठरवलेत्यामुळे 'मयतहा लघुपट प्रेक्षकांना अंतर्मुख करून जगण्याचे तत्वज्ञान देण्याचा प्रयत्न करतो.या लघुचित्रपटाच्या स्क्रिप्टवर पाच-सहा महिने काम चालू होतेया लघुचित्रपटाच्या लोकेशनसाठी सातारा जिल्ह्यात अनेक ठिकाणीप्रवास करून चित्रपटाला वेगळ्या उंचीवर नेऊन ठेवणारी लोकेशन निवडण्यात आलीकॅमेरामन गिरीश जांभळीकर यांनी प्रत्येकलोकेशनला आपल्या फ्रेममध्ये सुंदर रीतीने दाखवल्यामुळे छायाचित्रणातूनही लघुप व्यक्त होतोइतर तांत्रिक बाजूसंभाळणाऱ्यांमध्ये विपुल कदम (संकलन), सायली कुलकर्णी (ध्वनी), संगीत (गंधारयांच्या कामगिरीने चित्रपट प्रेक्षकांना खिळवूनठेवतो.  या लघुपटाचे सलग सहा दिवस चित्रीकरण सुरु होतेचित्रीकरणासाठी स्थानिक गावकऱ्यांनी देखील खूप सहकार्य केले.त्यानंतर पोस्ट प्रॉडक्शनची तीन ते चार महिने लागलेया सगळ्या टीमने केलेल्या कष्टाचे फळ मिळाले असल्याचे डॉशिंदे यांनीनमूद केले

या चित्रपटाची कथा राजाच्या आयुष्यातील अनेक चढउतारांभोवती फिरते. नैसर्गिक आवाजाची सुरेल देणगी लाभलेल्या एका शेतकऱ्याच्या मुलाचा पॉप सिंगर बनण्याचा प्रवास या सिनेमात आहे. देशपांडे यांनी त्रिकोणी प्रेमकथेच्या माध्यमातून राजाची कथा सादर केली आहे. सुपरस्टार बनण्याचे स्वप्न पूर्ण करण्यासाठी अनेक ब-या वाईट प्रसंगांना सामोरं जाणाऱ्या राजाला कोणाची साथ मिळतेव या साथीने त्याचे स्वप्न पूर्ण होणार की त्याला वेगळीच कलाटणी मिळणारहे पाहणं प्रेक्षकांसाठी रंजक असणार आहे. राजाच्या संगीतमय प्रवासाची कथा हा चित्रपट मांडतो.
या चित्रपटाचे संगीत विविध संगीत शैलींचा अनोखा अनुभव  देणारा असणार आहे. वलय मुळगुंदमिलिंद इनामदारकेदार नायगावकर यांच्या लेखणीने सजलेल्या गीतांना पंकज पडघन यांनी संगीतबद्ध केलं आहे.  गावचा राजाझन्नाटाहंडीतला मेवाजो बाळा जो जो रेयाद तुम्हारी आये,दगडाचे मनहे मस्तीचे गाणेआज सुरांना गहिवरले अशा वेगवेगळ्या जॉनरच्या आठ सुमधुर गाण्यांचा नजराणा यात आहे. सुखविंदर सिंगशान,उदित नारायण या हिंदीतील दिग्गज गायकांसोबत रोहित राऊतसौरभ चौघुलेउर्मिला धनगरसायली पडघन यांनी यातील गाणी गायली आहेत.

Director Sandeep Mohan is all set to announce his 4th feature film, “Nirmal Anand ki Puppy”. The movie is set to go on floors in September 2018.

After the success of his previously directed Love Wrinkle-free, Hola Venky and Shreelancer, Sandeep Mohan is ready to start his fourth feature film. The film will be India’s first film scripted by a man and a dog. Written along with his pet dog “Hermione”, the movie “Nirmal Anand ki Puppy” promises to be one of the most awaited comedy for its audience and is set to release early 2019.

Featuring premium design and excellent operability stemming from the highly reputable digital camera "X Series" system and the accumulation of image design technology from over 80 years of experience, the GFX 50S achieves the highest ever image quality from Fujifilm.

To complement the GFX50S perfectly, Fujifilm is also releasing FUJINON GF Lens series- a new camera system capable of creating the world's highest level of photographic expressions. (1) Equipped with a 43.8mm x 32.9mm, 51.4 MP CMOS sensor, boasting approx. 1.7x the area of full frame sensors
Both the shape of the light-gathering micro-lenses and the processing from the photodiodes have been customized to achieve a high level of sharpness and broad dynamic range. And thanks to the excellent light reception performance due to the large area of each pixel, room to spare is created in the camera's high sensitivity performance and tone reproduction, achieving high image quality exceeding that of cameras equipped with full size sensors with an equivalent number of pixels. Therefore, precise images can be reproduced down to the smallest detail, conveying the texture of the subject, a three-dimensional feeling, and even the atmosphere of the scene.
(2) Equipped with X-Processor Pro image processing engine

(3) Compact and lightweight body with high rigidity due to the adoption of magnesium alloy
With a weight of approx. 1230g when paired with a standard lens (GF63mm F2.8 R WR), the camera weighs approx. 60% of a medium format DSLR camera equipped with a sensor of the same size. Even when compared to a DSLR camera with a slightly smaller full size sensor, the camera comes in at almost the same weight. Overall camera body height and width have also been minimized for maximum flexibility, overturning the common perceptions regarding the mobility of medium format digital cameras.
(4) 3.69M-dot organic EL electronic viewfinder and 2.36M-dot touchscreen LCD back panel
A detachable structure has been adopted which allows for flexible operation according to how the user wishes to use it. Also, by attaching the separately sold EVF-TL1 EVF tilt adapter, the angle can be changed to a maximum angle of 90° when shooting horizontal landscapes and ±45° when shooting in the portrait position. A 3.2-inch, 2.36M-dot touch panel has been adopted for the rear monitor, allowing the user to use touch operations for the selection of the menu, distance measuring points and viewing of images that have been taken. The inclusion of a three-directional tilting LCD screen improves operability and makes viewing images and checking focus even easier.
(5) Newly developed large diameter G Mount with excellent robustness and durability
Utilizing the merits of newly developing both a camera body and lenses simultaneously, the GFX 50S adopts a large diameter/short flange back mount with a diameter of 65mm and a flange back of 26.7mm. This construction improves the freedom of the optical design of the lens, greatly contributing to high image quality and miniaturization of the body.
(6) Newly developed ultra-high resolution FUJINON GF Lenses
In preparation for the future, the GF Lens series, newly designed specifically for the GFX 50S, possesses the resolving power capable of supporting a sensor with 100 MP. The lens barrel also features an aperture ring in the same manner as XF Lenses, supporting the intuitive operation of photographers. A C (=Command) Position has been newly added to the aperture ring as well, allowing users to change the aperture using the command dial on the camera's body. In order to prevent incorrect operation, the A (=Auto) Position and C Position feature a locking button installed on the aperture ring that must be disabled to implement changes.
  • The FUJINON GF23mmF4 R LM WR: has a focal length equivalent to 18mm in the 35mm format and is perfectly suited for landscape and architectural applications. Despite the super-wide angle of view, distortion is kept to a minimum, and with the high-resolution performance extending all the way to the edges, sharp depiction power as if looking at an actual landscape is achieved. It features fast and quiet AF due to a linear motor, is dust and weather resistant, and is capable of operating in environments as cold as -10°C. The lens combines high performance and reliability as a professional work tool.
  • The FUJINON GF45mmF2.8 R WR: is a highly versatile wide angle lens with a focal length equivalent to 36mm (on a 35mm format) and maximum F2.8 aperture. Thanks to its compact and lightweight design (weighing only 490g), this lens is ideal for street and documentary photography.
  • The FUJINON GF63mmF2.8 R WR: This lens features an angle of view of approximately 50mm in 35mm format equivalent. Adopting a compact and stylish design, the external form of this small and lightweight lens has a diameter of just 84.0x71.0mm with a weight of only 405g. The optical system features a construction of 8 groups and 10 elements, including 1 ED lens element. This lens type was adopted being the most suitable for a compact size, with the utmost priority placed on resolution performance.
  • The FUJINON GF110mmF2 R LM WR: is a medium telephoto lens for portraits. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s era is subjects of immense pride in Maharashtra. Unfortunately very few films have been produced on the Shivaji  Maharaj  after legendary Director Bhalji Pendharkar. After forty years an honest attempt is made to depict the battle skills of Shivaji Maharaj, the bravery of the mavalas and their daredevilry in film ‘Farzand’. A ‘Swami Samarth Movies Creation LLP’s presentated, this film is produced by Anirban Sarkar and co-producers are Sandeep Jadhav, Mahesh Jaurkar, Swapnil Potdar. The film has been written and directed by Digpal Lanjekar.

The significance of the Panhala fort in terms of geography and defense, the coronation of Maharaj, and the increasing injustice on the common people around Panhala fort were all a matter of prestige and dignity of Shivaji Maharaj. In all these circumstances, winning Panhala was very important to Maharaj. This responsibility was entrusted by Maharaj to his brave warrior, 'Farzand'. 'We only fight... for our kings ... for swaraj...! Saying this, 'Kondaji Farzand’ the warrior, putting his life in great danger, was able to conquer the Panhala fort with the help of a handful of fighters. ‘Hindavi Swarajya's brave Mavala, the legendary story of 'Kondaji Farzand' will be unveiled by the film 'Farzand' on 1st of June in  Theatres.
Maharashtra has a glorious history. Many stories of the legendary mavalas have never reached the people. Each and every campaign of Shivaraya was meticulously planned. Through the film ‘Farzand’ the matchless bravery of 60 mavalas will unfold. These 60 mavalas defeated 2500 soldiers of Bijapur, and won Panhala fort in three and a half hours. Bahirji Naik, Anaji Pant, Ganoji, Gundoji, Martya, and Motyaji Mama worked on this campaign for months. On the basis of the accurate information and on the strength of their bravery, Maharaj won this gigantic fort in one night.
Many Popular Marathi actors, like Chinmay Mandlekar plays the role of Shivaji Maharaj, while Ankit Mohan has played Kondaji Farzand. Apart from this, Ganesh Yadav, Prasad Oak, Ajay Purkar, Mrinal Kulkarni, Mrinmayee Deshpande, Pravin Tarade, Astad Kale, Harish Dudhade, Neha Joshi, Rahul Mehendale, Nikhil Raut, Rajan Bhise, Anshuman Vichare, Rohan Mankani, Sachin Deshpande, Pradyuman Singh and Sameer Dharmadhikari.
Four beautiful songs complementing the story are in the film. The songs are written by Digpal Lanjekar and Kshitij Patwardhan. Music is by Amitraj and the background music is by Kedar Divekar. Adarsh ​​Shinde and Vaishali Samant have sung the songs. ‘Rakhu dya na marji swarinchi’ a lavani,  ‘Aai Ambe Jagdambe’ a Gondal song, is quite foot tapping. Also, the song of Kondaji Theme, which has Sanskrit words, has become inspirational. The song 'Shiva Malhari' has turned out very good.

This is despite the fact that we believe the company’s RoEV of 20.6% on opening EV is one of the highest in the sector and it has a FY3/18 VNB margin of 20.2%.

What event has happened? Max Financial Services reported its Q4 FY3/18 results on 25 May 2018, which were strong and in line with our expectations.
Why is it significant? The stock has underperformed the index as well as its peers and is down around 16% over last one year, whereas the Sensex is up around 11% over the same period. This underperformance was based on the view that the tie-up with Axis Bank (AXSB IN) would break and Axis Bank would start its own life insurance company. However, in line with our argument, both Axis Bank and Max Life (unlisted) have clarified that the tie-up stays as it is.
Hence we expect the focus to now shift to the fundamentals of the company, where the company has reported one of the strongest results in the sector, with annualized premium equivalent (APE) growing 22% YoY in FY3/18, value of new business (VNB) profits growing 31% YoY in FY3/18 with a VNB margin of 20.2% in FY3/18 (second only to HDFC Standard Life Insurance (HDFCLIFE IN) amongst the top four life insurance companies in India).
The company has also reported operating RoEV of 20.6% (on opening embedded value, EV), which is currently one of the highest in the sector in India. Implications for our earnings forecast? If the management decides to go ahead with its intention of investing in its proprietary channels, then we think APE growth will pick up from 17% in FY3/19 and to 30% in FY3/20, but we expect VNB margins to decline in FY3/19 to 19% and then recover in FY3/20 to 22%. Hence we raise our target price for Max Financial Services from Rs725 to Rs785. Our valuation is derived using an appraisal value methodology, where we add the value generated from new business using discounted cashflow (DCF) analysis of the merged entity’s pre-dividend EV.
The main risk to our rating and to the attainment of our target price is the risk of regulatory regulations on traditional products. How do valuations look now? The stock is trading at 1.6x FY3/20 P/EV (pre-dividend) which we estimate is at around a 35% discount to its peer group. This is despite the fact that we believe the company’s RoEV of 20.6% on opening EV is one of the highest in the sector and it has a FY3/18 VNB margin of 20.2%.
What is distinctive about our stock view? We believe that the market is ignoring the fundamentals of the stock. We expect Max Life’s EV to grow at around 20% pre dividend and VBN to grow at around 30% p.a. over the next two years. In FY3/18, Max Life reported operating RoEV of 20.6% (on opening EV) and VNB growth was 31% YoY, which, in our view, shows business has picked up.

Mahindra & Mahindra’s (M&M) Q4 FY3/18 earnings of Rs10.2bn beat our estimate of Rs9.3bn, mainly due to better operating performance than we expected in the auto segment. The Q4 EBITDA margin rose by 330bp YoY (from a low base) and 30bp QoQ to 13.2%. We see this as commendable given that the volume contribution from high-margin tractors fell by 9ppt QoQ to 30%. The key surprise for us was the auto segment, where the margin rose by 220bp QoQ, driven by the commercial vehicle (CV) business breaking even at the EBIDTA level amid strong volume growth. We expect M&M to record 10% volume growth in tractors in FY3/19. We expect demand for its Bolero and Scorpio models to pick up as these are largely rural products. In addition, M&M plans to launch three new utility vehicle (UV) models in FY3/19: a large sport-utility vehicle (SUV, the U321); a compact SUV (the S201); and a model based on the Rexton platform. We believe that these new launches and a rural revival should help M&M recover some of its lost market share in UVs. Steady volume growth in these segments should help offset rising input costs, in our view. We revise up our EPS forecasts by 4% for FY3/19 and 5% for FY3/20.Overall, we project a 17% adjusted earnings CAGR over FY3/19–20. We raise our target price from Rs890 to Rs1,000, still based on our sum-of-the-parts model, to factor in our earnings-forecast revisions and the recent rise in valuations for other listed Mahindra Group entities.

What event has happened? Mahindra & Mahindra’s (M&M) Q4 FY3/18 earnings of Rs10.2bn beat our estimate of Rs9.3bn, mainly due to better operating performance than we expected in the auto segment.

Why is it significant? The Q4 EBITDA margin rose by 330bp YoY (from a low base) and 30bp QoQ to 13.2%. We see this as commendable given that the volume contribution from high-margin tractors fell by 9ppt QoQ to 30%. The key surprise for us was the auto segment, where the margin rose by 220bp QoQ, driven by the commercial vehicle (CV) business breaking even at the EBIDTA level amid strong volume growth. We think that the Indian government’s recent budgetary focus on boosting the rural economy bodes well for M&M’s tractor segment. We expect M&M to record 10% volume growth in tractors in FY3/19. Once the rural segment recovers, we expect demand for its Bolero and Scorpio models to pick up too as these are largely rural products. In addition, M&M plans to launch three new utility vehicle (UV) models in FY3/19: a large sport-utility vehicle (SUV, the U321); a compact SUV (the S201); and a model based on the Rexton platform. We believe that these new launches and a rural revival should help M&M recover some of its lost market share in UVs.

Steady volume growth in these segments should help offset rising input costs, in our view. Overall, we project a 17% adjusted earnings CAGR over FY3/19–20. Excluding its subsidiaries, the standalone entity trades at 12.9x our FY3/20 EPS forecast, which we see as attractive versus its peers. We maintain our BUY rating.

Implications for earnings forecast?  revised up  EPS forecasts by 4% for FY3/19 and 5% for FY3/20.

How do valuations look now? We raise our target price from Rs890 to Rs1,000, still based on our sum-of-the-parts model, to factor in our earnings-forecast revisions and the recent rise in valuations for other listed Mahindra Group entities such as Tech Mahindra (TECHM IN) and Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services (MMFS IN). We value M&M’s core business at 16x our one-year forward core EPS forecast and its stakes in listed entities at the current market prices. Our valuation multiple for the core business is a 10% premium over M&M’s longterm median of 15x and in line with the BSE Sensex’s current premium over its long-term average.

The main risks  rating and the attainment of our target price are a slower recovery in tractor volumes than we expect and a sharp rise in input costs. What is distinctive about our stock view? We see M&M’s tractor and UV segments as among the main beneficiaries of a rural recovery in India.
